Christmas

The kitchen Santa brought her!

Morgan's stocking stuffers!

Christmas was different this year! All three of us managed to get the stomoach flu, Morgan started out on Tuesday before Christmas and hers lingered until the day after Christmas poor thing. I got sick on Christmas Eve but was better by Christmas morning. Ben on the other hand was up all day Christmas Eve went straight into work overnight to plow snow then has to stay up Christmas day. Around noon is when Ben started getting sick :-( That part of Christmas was not fun, and I think we managed to give it to most of the family as well. Sorry :-(

Other than that, Morgan had a GREAT Christmas. She got a ton of toys!!! There is hardly enough space in the basement for them all. She was so into Christmas this year it was a great time. In fact, the day after Christmas Morgan woke up at 5:50 am, which is VERY unlike her. When I went in her room she said, "Going, Christmas." What she meant was lets get up and do that again! LOL!!! I told her Christmas was over and to go back to sleep, and she did :-)

Christmas Cookies

Tonight Ben, Morgan, and myself went to some friends house to let the kids decorate sugar cookies. We had a great time getting together with eachother and playing with all the kids. As you can see from the pictures above, it was quite a mess!

Santa

We were shoppng at Wal Mart on Sat. when Santa walked by. Morgan squealed, "Santa, see him." Santa then walked over and said hello to Morgan, when he left Morgan insisted, "See him, see him." So we did. She got especially excited when she heard him say, "Ho Ho Ho."

Video

Morgan and I were playing in the living room after her bath, which explains why her hair looks like Kramer on Seinfeld, lol. It is so curly, but gorgeous! She talks a lot these days, but tends to be shy in front of new people so I thought this would be a great way to show off some of her presonality.

Christmas

Rather than have everyone ask me what Morgan want/needs for Christmas, I thought I would post a list here for her.
  • Night time sleepers 24mo. or 2T
  • Bathime toys

  • Large wooden puzzels
  • Board books
  • Dress up clothes

  • Anything musical - a small keyboard or age appropriate instruments.

  • My first Doll house - here's a link to one at Toys R Us I think she would like.
  • Clothes - Shirts 24 months / Pants 18 months
  • Things for her sensory table - ex. feathers, beans, toy cars, pom poms - things with lots of texture.
  • Baby doll funrniture - a cradle, high chair, changing table.

  • Anything else you can think of, I am sure she would love it -these are just sugestions so don't feel obligated!

Digital Storytelling

Today I was in a reading workshop where we created digital stories. The intention is for us to take this idea back to our classrooms and have the kids use this with their writing. But first, we had to create one of our own. It was very simple to create and a lot of fun. It'll be interesting to see what a bunch of 10 year olds can do with this technology!

Halloween

Morgan had a blast on Halloween. She figured out really quick that if she held out her pumpkin people would put goodies in it for her. She would quickly pull one out each time and say, "Open!" She had a sugar rush going for sure!

Tom many cook's in the kitchen!

Making dinner can be a difficult task if Ben isn't home to entertain Morgan while I am cooking. Last night Ben was gone and I had to make dinner, so I put Morgan's little table in the kitchen and pulled out a pan and a spoon so she could "cook" while mommy was cooking. She had a blast! Before I knew it though she was pulling out more untensils and making quite a mess. When the dinner I was cooking was done, I said, "Are you ready to eat?" Morgan said, "Eat" and began to put away all her cooking supplies before climbing into her chair for dinner! I snapped several pictures while she was cooking I though it was so cute!

Family Pictures

We have not had family pictures done since Morgan was born, so this past weekend we did! It was a blast! Morgan had a great time with lots of smiles, and the lady that did our pictures was wonderful. We will definitely be using her again. To view our pictures follow the link below!

Fall

I was driving and I looked in the back seat, and Morgan had out her own sunglasses on :-)
We went to Ruetledge farm a few weekends ago for thier Fall Festival. it was fun, there was face painting, hay rides, a sunflower maze for the little ones, and a pumkin patch. Not to mention all the animals on the farm. Here is Morgan with a pumkin, this was the only shot I got before the batteries in my camera went out.

4 wheeler

So my dad bought Morgan a battery powered 4 wheeler! It looks just like the real thing, except it's all plastic! Is so funny to see her on it. To make it go you have to push a foot pedal, Morgan can push the pedal, but often times forgets to hold on to the handle bars! It's pretty fast so when she's not holding on, it throws her backwards, I have to be standing right there at all times! There is also a turbo option...it's not plugged in yet. I am sure someday soon she'll want it to go faster, but for now it's fast enough :-)

Also, check out Morgan's blog to vote on what she should be for Halloween!

Silver Dollar City

Playing in the ball house place. FuN Stuff!
This is how Morgan smiles when I say, "smile" ---Looks just like Ben!
Riding her first ride! It was a caterpillar :-)

The weather was perfect today for an unexpected trip to Silver Dollar City. It was the first time we've taken Morgan, in the past we just thought it would be more work than it would be worth, but today she had a GREAT time. Morgan ate homemade ice cream, rode rides, and had fun walking around and taking in all the sights and smells of SDC!

Doctor's Visit

Morgan had her 15 month check-up yesterday and she weighed in at 24 pounds which is the 75% for her weight, and she was 33 inches tall and in the 100% for her height. I can also tell her feet have grown because some of her shoes are getting to small :-)

She got 3 shots, two of them were boosters from previous vaccinations and the other was the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine. The doctor also informed me that 10 % of kids will actually come down with the measles or mumps within 7-10 days of receiving the vaccine. So...what's the point of getting the vaccine if she ends up getting it anyways? I don't know...

Morgan hates shots as most people do, but she immediately stopped crying when they gave her a small cup filled with cookies.

Morgan can now say 25-30 words that other people can understand. She says a lot more, and I know what she means a lot of the time, but I don't think anyone else would understand Morgan language.
Some of the words Morgan says:
  1. Puppy
  2. outside
  3. Mommy
  4. Dadda
  5. Nanie and Nana
  6. Papa
  7. Marley
  8. Ball
  9. color
  10. No!

Ice cream

So we gave Morgan an ice cream cone in the car. This is what we get. She ate the whole thing, and when she got to paper covered stem of the cone I had to take it away from her just long enough to take the paper off. You would have thought the world was coming to an end by the way she screamed. She stopped immediately after being given the cone back :-) She's definitely our little girl, she LOVES her ice cream!
