Well visits

Morgan and I made pink chocoalte chip cookies. After letting her eat 2, she then took another without my knowledge and went to the closet where Ben was changing clothes. She said to him in a whisper, "Mommy doesn't need to know about this cookie." Ben's response to her was, "Well just don't tell mommy then."

Today Cannon and Morgan both had well visits with the doctor. It's always bittersweet to go to these appointments because you get to see how your babies are growing and developing as well as getting all you questions answered by the doctor. The bitter side is someone usually ends up crying and not feeling well later because of the vaccines they get while they are there.

Cannon's appointment was first. He weighed in at 14 lbs. 13 oz and was 23 and 3/4 inches tall. That made him in the 90th% for his weight and 75th% for height. He is meeting all his milestones and is a very healthy guy :-) Before we could leave with him for the day he got 3 shots in the legs and 1 oral vaccine. I just HATE seeing babies get shots, but I always remind myself that these vaccines keep him healthy and safe, and I would have it no other way. Seeing you kids sick is WAY worse then seeing them cry over a shot. A shot they get over very quickly, and illness...not so much.

Then cam Morgan. Morgan weighed in at 35.7 lbs and was 39 and 1/2 inches tall. That made her in the 90th % for weight and 95th percentile for her height. She has always been a big girl and it looks like the trend is continuing! The doctor said she anticipates Morgan to be 5'9'' to 5'10'' when she is an adult!! TALL LADY!!! Morgan got off the hook today and didn't have to get ant shots. In fact she is in the clear until she starts kindergarten :-)

Today I realized that this blog was something that I never really thought of it as...it's a record book. I was able to look back to 2008 and look at Morgan's 2 month doctors appointment and compare her and Cannon's results. When you have your first baby you think, "I'll never forget this information." Because at the time it is so important, then life goes on and you realize there are so many important events in your kids lives that there is no way to remember their stats at their 2 month appointment!!! So I was thrilled to be able to look back at Morgan's 2 month stats to compare. At 2 months Morgan and Cannon were pretty much the same height, however Cannon is weighing in about 3 more pounds than her! It's fun to watch them both grow, and I am so glad I keep this blog.

It was HOT!

The air temp was 93 degrees and the water temp was 89!!!! The pool was the ONLY place to be! Unless you are Morgan, then sitting under your umbrella in your new chair is also acceptable!

Morgan has had ice cream on her list of things to do on her birthday for awhile now. She said, "I want to go to the ice cream place with the fruit and candy on top." So Peach Wave is where we went!

On the few nice days we have had this summer Morgan's had a blast in her little pool. She can't wait until Nanny and Papa Scott's pool is warm enough to swim in!

We have been BUSY!

This year you could tell how much Morgan had grown. She was able to ride much bigger rides, and she was fearless! Cannon slept through the entire trip :-)

There is a really funny story about this ride...but I don't think I can do it justice by writing about it. If you want to hear it, give me a shout.
Morgan REALLY wanted to ride the big swings, but I kept telling her she was too little to ride them. First off, I am scared of this ride, and I really did think she was too little. So all through lunch she sat in that chair just like in the picture and every 10 seconds or so she would turn around and say, "I sure do wish I were big enough to ride those swings." So after about a 20 mintue guilt trip I told Morgan we could go measure her to see if she was big enough to ride. All the time I was just sure she was too small. Well once we got there it turns out Morgan WAS tall enough to ride...

So, Morgan and Ben rode the swings. Once Morgan was seated, I could tell right away she had some anxiety. From the ground where I was standing I could see the scared look on her face, and was worried that this ride was not going to be over soon enough. But once the ride got started, and Ben convinced her it was fun, I could see her smiling, and her feet kicking all the way to the end.

Well the past six weeks have absolutly zoomed by. Since Cannon has been born we have been on the go non stop! We have had so much fun though :-) Cannon is very easy going and just along for the ride. I think the biggest difference in having one kid instead of two is that when your first baby comes along your whole life changes. When the second one comes, you just add them to your family. You realize that your life doesn't stop when you have a baby, and that you just do what works for you. Forget all the junk you read (even though I still read all the time) because when it comes to your baby and your family there is nothing in a book that will ever answer the question you have. That being said, having Cannon added to them family has been wonderful. Morgan is such a great big sister, and can be very helpful with him.

Since the weather is supposed to be getting nicer, Morgan has been wanting to spend more time outside on her swing set. It was even nice enough one day that she waded in mom and dads pool. There is no way I would have been in there though, it was COLD!!

One day last week Morgan, Cannon, my mom and I all packed it up and went to Firehouse Pottery and Morgan painted a birthday plate. (Pictures to come later). And every Tuesday Morgan has gymnastics.

I had my last Grad. class this week. Too bad I don't walk until December. I wonder if I'll even want to by then...
