Rest in Peace Marley
Marley was the BIGGEST little dog there ever was. Ben and I got Marley 8 days after we married in 2003. He was a wedding gift to ourselves, and he brought so much happiness to our lives. He was our baby before we had babies, and we loved him so much. Marley had many health problems throughout his life including ulcers in his eyes and loss of tear production. From the time he was 2 he was on daily medication. Then about 3 years ago Marley was diagnosed with diabetes after having a diabetic seizure. So another medication was added to his list. Taking care of Marley was a challenge, but we loved him so much we had no other choice. Slowly over the past year Marley's body began to deteriorate and he was loosing control of his bowels, and was frequently sick. Ben and I had to make the very difficult decision to have Marley put down. I handled it much better than Ben, but I think that the only reason is because Ben was the one who took Marley to the vet and spent his last moments with him.
It took Morgan several days to notice him missing, I guess because even when Marley was alive he was so tired. When Morgan did ask about him we just explained that Marley went to doggy heaven to be with Jesus because he wasn't feeling well. That Marley felt much better now that he was with Jesus. Morgan asked where Jesus was and we told her up in heaven and I pointed to the sky. Then in Morgan's very sweet 3 year old voice she asked, "Can we take a rocket ship up to see him?" It's so hard to explain death to a child, I think I am glad she doesn't totally understand.

FuN TiMeS!
Morgan playing on the tablet, good Saturday morning fun.
Morgan keeps drawing this same picture over and over again. I think it looks like a cute robot.
Why do they ALWAYS go for the remote? Oh and my cell phone.

Morgan put the pink stocking cap on him...and he was chewing on the princess crown. I guess this is what happens when you have an older sister, poor guy, lol.

I LOVE fall!
I think this is one of the first family photos we have with all 4 of us :-) I love Cannon's little flannel shirt, it makes him look like a little old grandpa, lol. It's also an 18 month size...he just turned 5 months old!

This weekend was such a great time. On Saturday Ben and I went to a movie, not a good one, but it was still fun to get out. Then we took the kids to Rutledge Wilson farm. While we were there we saw two different Blue Grass bands, saw the farm animals, and played in barn slide house. Cannon and Morgan had a great time.
Sunday we attended Ireland's birthday party and Morgan had a blast playing outside with all her friends.
And Monday we went to the last Springfield Cardinals baseball game of the season. It was Cannon's first game, and he had a great time until the 7th inning when he just fell asleep on my shoulder. Even with all that noise around he was able to get in a nice little nap.

Pre-School
Can you tell what this says?
Morgan's first day of pre-school went really well. She was very excited about her big day and ready to go with her new cupcake backpack. When I picked her up after her first day she was happy to see me, and very tired! She told me all about her day on the way to swimming lessons. She told me about the boy in the green shirt that was crying for his mommy, and about the loud kids on the playgroung, lol. She told me her favorite part of the day was snack (she couldn't tell me what the snack was, just that it was rolly and she had to be careful so they didn't fall on the floor), and that she had a cookie for lunch. All in all I think she had a pretty good day!

4 month Check-up and VBS
At Cannon's 4 month check-up he weighed in at 18.3 pounds (95th percentile) and was 25 inches long (75th percentile). Doctor Freeman said he was growing at a healthy rate and that she expects his baby blues to stay blue!! Just like his sister! When I imagined what my kids would look like before they were born, blue eyes were never one of the things that I dreamed of. Ben and I both have brown eyes, but one thing is for sure... I LOVE my blue eyed babies :-)
Cannon is now eating rice cereal and was given the go ahead to try oatmeal and other cereal varieties. I am also sure rolling over is on the top pf Cannon's to do list.
